WELCOME TO THE BRUSH LAB

My brush with life and love is no different from anyone else. I decided to create a space here in the lounge where people could be comfortable with vulnerability and while we come as one, my hope is that we leave as friends. Theres room here for everyone. 

My seat in the lounge is an attempt to be comfortable with my own brushes with life and love. I was quite young and vulnerable when I was thrust onto the world stage. NBA wife life is no championship ring or trophy for even the best of us. Womanhood, motherhood, I've succeeded at it all. But, somehow I pulled away from personal dreams of my own, I'm here to share my dreams with you and share in  them as well. You may have read my first book, Glamorous Sacrifice, it tells of my heroin journey in the shadows of championship. I'm still her, I still want to be the comforting voice millions hear at 6:00.  I get to do that here in the lounge. 

People ask often, where are they now referring to the NBC hit television series, The Biggest Looser. Yes that was me, episode _____. We've all had brushes with life and love, some memorable and some we want to just forget. Stuff happens to us all, good, bad, no one gets a pass. My seat in the lounge is to answer that question? While I've lost weight, I've shedded a few other things along the way - and today I'm sharing my truth, I'm still showing up, for myself and with others and we're loving life,

Somehow when you say names like Oprah Winfrey, Stedman Graham, and Suze Orman, you think successful speakers, thought starters and global influencers - and you're right. As the CEO of Integrity Training Institute, I've been afforded many opportunities to rub shoulders with some of the best and brightest. That said, I can tell you, that while our lives may differ, we're the same in many ways. When I think about the many CEOs, Authors, IT Executives, HR Managers, Sales Teams, Realtors, Mortgage Companies, Housewives that I have worked with, I can't help but think of the countless times they too like all of us was afraid and uncertain but they like us pull through. We've all been met with challenges and we've overcome. We keep going or we find new paths. I'm in the lounge for current and new discoveries and I couldn't be prouder to be here with all of you. 

Being a father to two amazing daughters has taught me the most about how a man should be seen in a woman's eyes. No matter where you find yourself in life, childhood, life experiences will have a huge impact on what both men and women bring into a love relationship. Knowing this, the best I've been able to do is be my best self to my girls who are young ladies now. I didn't always have all the answers, but they will tell you that I was always there. Just showing up, authentic, transparent and true has perhaps been my greatest asset. I've written a book and I'm sharing my grown man stories through "I am Chilvery". I'm thankful for this seat. 

I was caught up in the hustle and bustle. I was the devil wears Prada everyday. But I was tired, I was not living my dream nor was I the portrayal of my own authentic, transparent and true self. I wanted to leave, but I stayed, I needed a job to fund my version of The American Dream. Dream mom, dream marriage, dream life. One day, I walked away, it was the best day of my life. Everything changed, I questioned purpose, desire, worth and trust. I found myself on a deep abiding journey through the veils of my soul. One discovery after the next util I was whole, free, and able to live in joy, vitality and bliss. I've traded my stiletto for soft sole and dedicated my life to a wellness regiment that I had never known. I'm in the lounge to express my authentic truth while sharing my path to wholistic health and healing.
